Looking for leadership.
Dear Joe,
I wanted to make sure I got one more, quick letter to you before your big speech. Now, you said that imposing sanctions on Russia was going to be painful for Americans, although I’m not quite sure it’s supposed to work that way. Anyway, you said that you would do “everything in your power to ease the economic pain for Americans.” I’m not too sure about that, because I’m not entirely sure you understand how easy that would actually be.
Dude, this is an enormous opportunity for you to step up. So, step up, man! Putin has given you a great reason to stifle the energy exports from Russia. With that, you can jumpstart the Keystone Pipeline (800,000 barrels a day), remove the drilling restrictions here in America, and then tell AOC to take up her “green new deal” with Putin, because I think he wants to date her.
We are actually funding part of his war. As of 2021, we are importing hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil a day from Russia. That is an increase from 76,000 barrels a day back in 2020. A massive increase since you took office. Hmmm, weird. If you open up the energy production here in America, the world will buy our energy, instead of Russia’s. You would get an enormous bump in the polls, quite possibly some of that unification you promised, and the U.S. economy would get a big windfall of cash from the sale of our energy products. That cash could help in the transition to “cleaner” energy. But, here’s the deal, you can’t stop one source of energy, without having the other source as a fully viable option.
Look. Let me be clear. It is not climate change and it is not white supremacists that are the greatest threat to our nation. The only true existential threat to our country, and our planet, right now, is Putin and his nuclear arsenal, which he has threatened to use. C’mon, man! Take advantage of this opportunity. Make America great again! (Oops.)
Dang! If we only knew that Putin was moving massive amounts of troops to the borders of Ukraine. If we had known that, say back in July or August, we could have moved all of our military weapons and ammo from Afghanistan to Ukraine. I mean, if we had any kind of a clue what was going on in the Russian-Ukraine area, like maybe satellite photos. Wait, a minute, I Googled and there are photos – maybe all that was missing was action on the part of NATO.
Putin has done everything he said he would do with regards to the invasion. All of his preparations were done in plain sight. I mean, it’s not like it was Omicron, and you couldn’t see it coming. As he began the invasion, he warned that anyone (i.e. NATO) that gets involved will “pay a price they have never paid before.” Joe, I would heed that warning. Don’t get sucked into a war that is not ours, especially with an unstable character, not yours, Putin’s. And, don’t be fooled by those “false flags” of an errant missile hitting a NATO partner. And with the Russian people protesting the war, don’t be too shocked if Putin nukes his own people and blames it on Ukraine, giving him justification for using his nukes.
You missed the opportunity to match Putin’s moves. Maybe you weren’t awake, or maybe you were too woke, either way you missed the opportunities to avoid this situation. Now you are stuck playing catch up and are on the defensive. Joe, leaders are in front of the game, but it seems you weren’t even aware that the game had even started. Don’t get me wrong, war is not a game. I am just using an analogy, because I know you like them. Look, Elon Musk stepped up for Ukraine by positioning one of his Starlink satellites over the country. “Starlink is now active in Ukraine, Elon Musk announced after Ukraine’s vice prime minister on Saturday requested the SpaceX billionaire help the embattled country with communication satellites. Starlink service is now active in Ukraine,” Musk tweeted about 10 hours after the call for help. “More terminals en route.”[1] No joke. True story.
Putin is not a well man. Physically, psychologically, maybe both? Be very cautious of a rabid dog (or a sick Putin), he has nothing to lose, and may likely pull out all stops to achieve an unachievable goal. To avoid embarrassment and to save face, this “rabid dog” may unleash nukes on Ukraine, and he may not stop there. Like I said, he has done everything he has said he would do. Now he has put his nukes on high alert. Look, referencing the Cuban Missile Crisis, if you have a JFK-type Russian operative that can sway the Russian leader, now is the time.
I heard you offered to evacuate Zelenskyy from Ukraine. He reportedly turned you down saying, that he “needed ammunition, not a ride.” He must have watched your evacuation of Afghanistan. Look, here’s the deal. The Ukrainians are fighting the good fight. There are stories of heroism and defiance coming out of the war zone on a daily basis. They are performing their patriotic duties, and this may surprise you, but it’s not wearing face diapers, or getting vaccinated. They are facing a bigger threat and I think the world should help them, help themselves. So that you might understand, they’ve got moxie. Along those lines, you would also be well-served to develop some gumption. As Seamus Heaney wrote, “Anyone with gumption and a sharp mind will take the measure of two things: what’s said and what’s done.” That’s strike two, for you.
With all eyes on Ukraine, you will not likely get a large audience for your State of the Union address. But, that’s okay. Your speech should be brief and should begin with “Ladies and Gentlemen, the state of the union is not well. But, my plan is to make America great again.” (Oops, I did it again) I’m curious, though, if that was in the teleprompter, would you actually read it? I’m sure if Putin really wanted to stir up some shit in America, he would get his cyber guys to hack into your teleprompter and put words in your mouth. Or, is that the job of the Squat? It is obvious that your minion, Nancy “they’re not eyebrows, they’re highbrows” Pelosi, thinks you are doing a great job, so at least she won’t be tearing up her copy of the State of the Union Speech this year.
